Why Do I Need the MLS?

You’ve heard agents talk about this thing called the MLS. But, what exactly is the MLS?

The Multiple Listing Service (MLS) website provides up-to-date information for every home on the market. That way you don’t waste your time on Zillow, Trulia, or other websites where the information is outdated. We constantly check the New Homes on the Market list so we can be on the lookout for our clients. We will get you this information right away– the way that is most convenient for you, either by phone, text, and/or email.

The MLS is the database that realtors have access to– realtors pay a significant yearly fee in order to obtain access, and must have a real estate license to have access. The MLS has all the information a real estate agent will need to know in order to access a home and show it to a buyer. The MLS is what your home is listed on if you are selling your house, and this is how all agents will see your home and have an opportunity to show it to buyers.

The MLS is the best way for buyers to have all the information they need on a property. This way buyers are seeing properties that fit their criteria, instead of walking in blindly to properties not knowing if the seller is accepting their loan type, or if the home is priced at their budget.
